Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept statistics cookies. Nothing that records your visit is stored until you click Accept. If you click Deny, or close the banner, no statistics cookie is set and you can still use every part of the site.
You can change your mind at any time: once you have made a choice, a Manage consent button appears at the bottom-left of each page. Reopen it to accept or withdraw statistics cookies whenever you like.
What this site stores in your browser
- Consent preference (
kb_consent_v1) — saved in your browser's local storage, not sent to us. It remembers whether you accepted or declined statistics. It stays until you clear your browser's site data. This one is essential: without it we would have to ask you on every page. - Statistics (
_pk_id.*,_pk_ses.*) — set by Matomo, our own self-hosted analytics, and only if you click Accept. They tell us which pages are visited, roughly when, approximately which region, and what kind of device was used._pk_idlasts up to 13 months;_pk_seslasts 30 minutes. We run Matomo on our own server — the data does not go to Google or any other analytics company. - Elsewhere — this site only links to our Facebook group. If you follow that link, Facebook may set its own cookies on their site. That is outside our control, and Facebook's own policy covers it.
What we do with it
Statistics tell us how many people visit and which pages are useful, so we can improve the site. IP addresses are anonymised before they are stored, and we respect the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser. We never sell or share this data, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
Controlling cookies yourself
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — the privacy or security section of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or whichever browser you use. Blocking the statistics cookie does not affect how the site works.
